Nano and Microparticles as Potential Oral Vaccine Carriers and Adjuvants Against Infectious Diseases

نویسندگان

چکیده

Mucosal surfaces are the first site of infection for most infectious diseases and oral vaccination can provide protection as line defense. Unlike systemic administration, immunization stimulate cellular humoral immune responses at both mucosal levels to induce broad-spectrum long-lasting immunity. Therefore, design a successful vaccine, it is essential well responses. Successful vaccines need overcome harsh gastrointestinal environment such extremely low pH, proteolytic enzymes, bile salts permeability immunogenicity vaccines. In recent years, several delivery systems adjuvants have been developed improving vaccine immunogenicity. Formulation with nanoparticles microparticles shown improve antigen stability, availability adjuvanticity immunostimulatory capacity, target specific release. This review discusses how (NPs) (MPs) carriers adjuvant characteristics be beneficial in development.

Apoptosis as a Potential Target in Therapeutic and Vaccine Interventions against Parasitic Diseases

Apoptosis is a physiological cell death that occurs under normal conditions in major biological processes, including the removal of old, damaged, extra, or harmful cells. It plays an important role in natural evolution, tissue homeostasis, removal of cells damaged or infected by viruses, and removal of immune cells activated against self-antigens. The purpose of this review was to examine the r...

Recent Advances of Vaccine Adjuvants for Infectious Diseases

Vaccines are the most effective and cost-efficient method for preventing diseases caused by infectious pathogens. Despite the great success of vaccines, development of safe and strong vaccines is still required for emerging new pathogens, re-emerging old pathogens, and in order to improve the inadequate protection conferred by existing vaccines. One of the most important strategies for the deve...

TLR, NLR and other modulators as infectious disease vaccine adjuvants

Vaccines based on attenuated or killed viruses and bacteria are highly effective in preventing infection with a range of pathogens, but can have safety issues. Therefore, there is a move towards subunit vaccines based on recombinant proteins or naked DNA. However, protein subunit vaccines are typically poorly immunogenic when administered alone and therefore require co-administration with adjuv...

Vaccine adjuvants as potential cancer immunotherapeutics

Accumulated evidence obtained from various clinical trials and animal studies suggested that cancer vaccines need better adjuvants than those that are currently licensed, which include the most commonly used alum and incomplete Freund's adjuvant, because of either a lack of potent anti-tumor immunity or the induction of undesired immunity. Several clinical trials using immunostimulatory adjuvan...

Improvement of DNA vaccination by adjuvants and sophisticated delivery devices: vaccine-platforms for the battle against infectious diseases

Advantages of DNA vaccination against infectious diseases over more classical immunization methods include the possibilities for rapid manufacture, fast adaptation to newly emerging pathogens and high stability at ambient temperatures. In addition, upon DNA immunization the antigen is produced by the cells of the vaccinated individual, which leads to activation of both cellular and humoral immu...
